THRIVE: The Official Spring-Klein Chamber of Commerce Newsletter

Greetings!

Many members report that business is improving and we hope that is the case for you.  Our chamber exists for the sole purpose of promoting the businesses in Spring and cultivating an environment that will further economic growth in the area.  With numerous benefits, such as a current vision plan, chamber discounts, a proposed health insurance option for SKCC members and an upcoming business directory to market your company, we are diligently working to support your business needs.

We invite you to be an active participant in the chamber - join one of the committees, come to the ribbon cuttings, network at a luncheon or other event.  We offer various opportunities for you to connect with leaders in business and government.  Please contact us directly at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or 281.257.4431 for more information on membership or member involvement and, as always, we welcome suggestions on how we can further serve you.

SKCC welcomes March Speaker:

Vince Ryan, Harris County Attorney

Vince Ryan was elected to a four-year term as Harris County Attorney, the civil lawyer for the County, on November 4, 2008 and took his oath of office on January 1, 2009.  His office handles the legal affairs for virtually every aspect of county government and represents the interests of its 4 million residents.

Since taking office in January, Vince has appointed an Inspector General, formed a Special Prosecution Unit that is working to close properties that shelter criminal activities, and created a separate environmental division.  He has also reorganized the office to make it more efficient, conducted ethics training for the staff, and improved internal communication and morale.  Additionally, Vince and the Office of County Attorney are working with other County Officials such as the District Attorney to find solutions to the legal issues facing the country.
